Wayne Mitchell is in charge of keeping church buildings clean and trash picked up, cleaning sidewalks, overseeing repair work, making recommendations when work needs to be done, and setting up for special events. He has been at Holy Trinity since 2000, after doing part-time custodial work for First Presbyterian, Hickory. As a youth, he also worked summers with the custodian of his high school, Taylorsville High. After serving in the US Army for two years, he was a truck driver for W&L Motor Lines, Century Furniture, and Haley Transfer for a total of 29 years. Wayne and his wife, Darnell, have two daughters and attend Sandy Ridge Baptist Church where he is the vice-president of Carolina Faith Riders Motorcycle Ministry. He enjoys riding his motorcycle, hunting and fishing, as well as working with the people at Holy Trinity. His life goal is to be a positive influence on others. "I want to let my life shine as a witness so people will come to know the Savior," he says.
