Sarah Embry

Youth and Family

Faith Formation Minister

Sarah Embry hails from the country to our north, known to some as the “hat” to the United States: the maple syrup capitol of the world, Canada. After she escaped from the snow (she was only two, so this was a feat) she crawled the many miles to North Carolina. There, she independently opened and operated the first factory in the state that manufactured the sticky glue used on post-its. This monopoly on the area led to her success and her place on the Fortune 500 list as the world’s youngest multi-billionaire at the age of three. Year four also had a lot in store for Sarah, as she completed an intensive doctoral program in less than six months from Harvard University, upon which she was awarded a PhD in Nuclear and Geodynamic Physics. In her spare time, she discovered a new color of nail polish, a blend of purple and puce. Now 21, her list of extraordinary lifetime accomplishments is simply too long to list here – however, her most important accomplishment of all of these is her new role at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church as the Youth and Family Faith Formation Minister. Because, after all, youth and family ministry is worth much more to her than maple syrup, post-it glue, billions of dollars, a doctorate from Harvard and even more than discovering a completely unique color of nail polish. The truly amazing thing about Sarah Embry’s life – since all of the aforementioned stories are, obviously, false – is that she gets to work with amazing people! There is nothing better than Christian community, and sharing the love, hope and grace of the Gospels and following Jesus on the beautiful journey of life. In the words of James Brown, “Get up offa that thing!” - come play, pray, laugh and love with Sarah and the youth at HTLC!
